Latest News

What a busy year so far!   January saw Niall working with West-End leading lady Chloe Hart - formerly of Hairspray and now in rehearsals for Les Misérables - on her debut solo cabaret at Madame Jojo’s.  Chloe was joined by an amazing band and equally amazing guest singers: Liam Tamne, James Winter and Suzie McAdam.  The event, produced by Ian Stroughair of West-End Connections, was a great success and Niall is looking forward to working with West-End Connections again.

Meanwhile, Niall continues working at the Guildford School of Acting - at their brand new purpose-built facilities.   As well as teaching Repertoire and Group Singing classes, Niall MD’d the Papp version of Pirates of Penzance with second year students.  The show was directed by Jimmy Johnston.   More recently Niall was Musical Director for the postgraduate musical theatre students production of The Baker’s Wife (by Stephen Schwartz).  It was directed by Kenn Oldfield.

Outside of teaching Niall launched a new theatre production company with Chris Wheeler.  Their first production was a Rodgers and Hart revue “With A Song In My Hart” which featured an amazing cast: Gay Soper, Paul Clarkson, Stuart Neal, Kate Tydman and Hamilton Sargent.  The three performances at The Mill, Guildford, were a great success.  Watch this space for the future of this show.....

Niall’s next project is Leonard Bernstein’s epic work “Mass” which is being performed at the Royal Festival Hall on the 10th and 11th of July.  The performances will feature an enormous choir, a children’s choir, a number of soloist singers - spanning classical, rock and musical theatre styles, an 85-piece orchestra (including Niall on keyboards and organ!), a rock band, dancers, a marching band and a Street Chorus (for which Niall is the musical director).  The entire production is directed by Jude Kelly, artistic director for the Southbank Centre, and is conducted by Marin Alsop.
